The Wooden Spoon Saloon was established in 2016 in Bloomfield, NJ. The 6,000 sf restaurant occupies two floors and houses two full service bars and dining rooms. This American Craft hotspot with 14 taps and a rotating menu of expertly crafted cocktails, regularly hosts local musicians and has a full calendar of weekly and special events including (but definitely not limited to) Trivia Night, Burger specials and Beats and Brunch. With over 22 TV screens, an eclectic menu and an extensive selection of bourbon, whiskey, wine and craft beer – The Wooden Spoon is truly an American Craft Experience.
In June 2019, Chef Carlton Greenawalt joined the Wooden Spoon bringing with him an extensive resume of culinary skills and over 25 years of top-notch experience. A Texas native with an eclectic background, Chef Carlton put his flare on the new menu introduced in August 2019 focused on locally sourced ingredients, from scratch recipes, for flavorful farm to fork dishes. Along with the new menu, The Wooden Spoon, rebranded to reflect the American Craft style that Chef is skilled in.

Bringing over 25 years of top-notch culinary experience and talent, The Wooden Spoon is excited to welcome our new Executive Chef, Carlton Greenawalt. Chef Carlton, a Texas native who knows his way around a kitchen, brings extensive experience and an eclectic background. Formerly of California and Washington, where he was Chef, Owner and Consultant for many successful restaurants and breweries including Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens. Since coming to New Jersey in 2012, Chef Carlton has served as executive chef and influenced the menus of some of NJ’s top restaurants including Meyersville Inn, Tapastre and Project PUB. Having worked in such positions as Executive Chef Manager, Sous Chef, and Director of Food and Beverage, he understands what it takes to keep a restaurant running smoothly and to provide unbeatable customer service.
